We all suffer separation

Some more than others – I 

A self-absorbed of long duration

As one alone under the sky

Made my contact with mankind

When your blue eyes burnt the air

Within the room I stepped to find

My co-star, shining, blazing, rare

And later when we lay in bed

Your tenderness so seized my heart

I felt the dark fly from my head

I’m in the world, no more apart.
